Lucca confirms itself as the world capital of paper: 12 European universities come together for the first Permanent Table on Training

The Master’s Degree in “Paper and Cardboard Engineering,” promoted by the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa and supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca along with Assocarta and many local companies, strengthens the presence and international prestige of the Lucca paper district.  

Academic and training excellence is added to the productive excellence, along with the support of the Confederation of European Paper Industries – CEPI.  

In Lucca on October 8 and 9, on the occasion of the opening of the academic year, twelve European universities and numerous industry representatives will sign a memorandum of understanding to develop and activate double degrees and joint study programs; launch exchange programs for students and teachers and access to Erasmus funding; create joint research labs focused on technological innovation and the green transition; sharing excellent training standards to strengthen the talent pipeline in the sector; collaborating on research projects in the paper and cardboard industry. The goal is to promote career opportunities among young people in a dynamic, innovation-driven, and technologically advanced industry through the potential of a European network that favors exchanges and best practices among the various stakeholders.
