The Master’s Degree Program in “Engineering of Paper and Cardboard” launches an unprecedented initiative: the creation of the first Permanent International Roundtable on Education (European Roundtable on High-Level Education in the Paper Industry).
The project, born from the collaboration between the University of Pisa, Assocarta, and local companies, has received full support from CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) and its Director General, Jori Ringman. The goal is ambitious: to overcome the mistaken perception of a sector sometimes considered unattractive, showing young people the innovation and career opportunities in a dynamic and technologically advanced industry.
To date, the initiative has already involved 12 European universities (starting from historic collaborations with Grenoble and Munich) that will meet in Lucca next summer. On this occasion, academic representatives will sign a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding) to:
- develop and implement double degrees and joint European study programs;
- initiate exchange programs for students and faculty and access to Erasmus+ funding;
- create joint research laboratories focused on technological innovation and the green transition;
- share standards of educational excellence to strengthen the talent pipeline in the sector.
